Workshops

Heelwork to Music

19th & 26th May – 6pm

This is two 1 hour classes where we will teach you heelwork to music moves and put them together into a routine.

Suitable for all dogs, no experience needed.

This workshop will be held undercover in Treuddyn, near Mold.

Barking Mad’s Big Training Day

29th May

This is a full day of workshops. We have lots going on, below is a list of what’s available and the times.

Reactive dog hoopers – 9am – 10:30am – £25 per dog.
This workshop will be run so the dogs are worked individually and they don’t come head on with another dog (seperate entrance and exit). It is ideal for dogs who don’t like other dogs or people. It is also perfect if your dog just lacks focus when in a class of other dogs. Dogs will take it in turn to have multiple goes in the arena with the trainers. When your dog isn’t working we ask that they wait in the car (or away from the arena) to give everyone as much room as possible when entering and leaving for their go. Suitable for all levels of hoopers dogs. Handlers can have multiple dogs as they are worked separately.

Sequences and course running hoopers – 11am – 12.30pm – £25 per dog.
Dogs will be working together in small groups. Suitable for dogs who have good hoop value.

Beginners hoopers – 1pm – 2pm – £20 per dog.
Dogs will be working together in small groups. Suitable for dogs who have no experience in hoopers, or who have little hoop value but want to build on it. Each dog will need their own handler.

Intermediate hoopers – 1pm – 2pm – £20 per dog.
Dogs will be working together in small groups. Suitable for dogs who have hoop value and want to progress onto more sequences. Each dog will need their own handler.

Puppy confidence and socialisation – 3pm – 5pm – £6 per dog.
As long as your vet has oked your puppy to meet other dogs then they can come to this workshop.

During the workshop your puppy will learn how to be confident with new things, new environments, new people.

Learn how to get them to settle in places like cafes, groomers and at the vets.

Off lead play with other puppies of similar ages with our guest behaviourist Zoe Darley who can answer any of your behaviour questions.

The Big Training Day will be held at the Maelor Equestrian Centre in Hope.

Barking Mad’s Big Training Weekend

22nd & 23rd July

We are really excited to be able to bring this to you all, as far as we know it is the biggest training event for dog owners in North Wales, and we have trainers coming in from all over the country to teach you.

Although it is called a weekend it is actually held over Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd July, in the Maelor Equestrian centre in Hope.

We have 2 full days of training on offer for you.

Day 1:

You have a choice of either doing:

Mantrailing and either Parkour, Heelwork to music or Flyball

Or

Parkour, Heelwork to music and Flyball

Day 2:

Gives you a choice of:

Mantrailing and either Tricks, Rally or Hoopers

Or

Tricks, Rally and Hoopers.

Each workshop is 2 hours long. Apart from mantrailing which is around 3.5 hours.

This is why if you choose mantrailing you only get a choice of one more workshop, whereas if you don’t choose mantrailing you get to do 3 workshops.

We do ask that if you are interested in mantrailing that you only choose it on one day. This gives everyone a chance to have a go as numbers for this workshop are really limited. If there are spare spaces available we will let you know so you can swap onto a second mantrailing workshop if you want to.

In total you get 5.5 – 6 hours worth of training each day.

There are plenty of breaks for all the dogs between each workshop.

Don’t worry you get a break as well as your lunch is also included on both days.

Plus if you join us in the evening for the physio talk you will also get your evening meal included. (I have it on good authority that Heather will be making cakes for us all as well)

We understand that each dog will be at different levels so in the booking form please put what level of training your dog has achieved for each workshop you are interested in. That way when we have everyone’s forms in we can sit down and sort everyone into suitable workshop levels.

To make the day even better we are offering these training places as per person, which means if you have multiple dogs in your household and would like to swap them for different workshops then that is ok. This way the dogs can have even bigger rests between training.

Summary of what you get:

  • 2 full days of different training workshops, a total of 11- 12 hours of training.
  • Choice of 8 workshops to take part in
  • Lunch on both days
  • Evening meal on the Friday
  • Talk by a Vet Physio on the Friday evening
  • Chance to work multiple dogs from the same household
  • Training goodie bag filled with all great things

All this for an early bird price of £189.

This is a limited time offer.
